1. Deploying AI Model Endpoints with API Gateway


    In this scenario, we will create a cloud infrastructure that deploys an AI Model Endpoint using AWS API Gateway. This will provide a RESTful endpoint for your AI model, which you can call with HTTP requests to interact with the model. Here's how you can accomplish that with Pulumi using Python:

    1. AWS Lambda Function: This AWS service will run your AI model's code. You'll need to provide your model's code, which can be in the form of a ZIP file or inline code, depending on the size and complexity of your model. AWS Lambda supports various runtimes, so make sure your model is compatible.

    2. AWS API Gateway: This acts as the front door to your Lambda function, allowing you to call it via an HTTP endpoint. We will configure a REST API that triggers the Lambda function upon a request.

    This Pulumi program defines all resources necessary to deploy an AI model via AWS API Gateway. You need to replace placeholder strings with actual values that are relevant to your AI model such as the path to the deployment package ZIP file and the handler method.

    The flow of the infrastructure setup is as follows:

    • We first create an IAM Role which our Lambda function assumes to gain necessary permissions.
    • We attach the AWSLambdaBasicExecutionRole policy to this IAM Role. This allows the Lambda function to log to AWS CloudWatch.
    • We create the AWS Lambda function which will run our AI model. You will need to update the code parameter with the path to your AI model's deployment package and the handler parameter with a reference to the function within your code that Lambda should call.
    • We create an API Gateway REST API and define a resource with a path part that can be used to trigger the model (e.g., '/predict').
    • We define a method (HTTP verb) for that resource, in this case, POST.
    • We create an Integration to connect the API Gateway resource with the Lambda function.
    • Finally, we set up a Lambda Permission that allows API Gateway to invoke the Lambda function.

    Replace the placeholders with values specific to your model and environment, and your Pulumi program will be ready to roll out your AI model to AWS, accessible via an HTTP endpoint.
