Select the right model and edition

Setting up your Pulumi Cloud account will lay the foundation for onboarding your team and enabling collaboration. Understanding your deployment options, editions, and support needs will help you choose the right approach for your organization.

    Choose your edition

Choose an edition based on the collaboration, automation, and governance capabilities you need.

    Free

Choose Free when one person needs core infrastructure as code, state management, Pulumi Deployments, and basic Pulumi ESC. Free has no managed-resource limit. It does not include Pulumi Neo, Resource Search, or Property Search.

    Essentials

Choose Essentials when a team needs a shared organization with multiple users. Essentials adds Pulumi Neo, Resource Search, Property Search, and policy results in advisory mode.

    Pro

Choose Pro when your organization needs stronger access controls, automation, and policy enforcement. Pro adds SAML SSO, advanced role-based access control, audit logs, organization-managed policy enforcement, preventative policies, custom policy packs, drift remediation, scheduled Deployments, and scheduled Neo tasks.

    Enterprise

Choose Enterprise when your organization needs advanced compliance, identity management, or deployment controls. Enterprise adds conformance packs, unlimited custom policy packs, policy remediation, SCIM, automated audit-log export, self-hosting, GitHub Enterprise Server support, GitHub Enterprise Cloud with data residency support, and unlimited custom roles.

    Choose your deployment model

Pulumi Cloud offers two deployment options, each designed for different organizational needs and security requirements.

Choose Pulumi Cloud SaaS if you want the simplest setup with enterprise-grade reliability built in. You get high availability, disaster recovery, and geo-replication out of the box, plus security and compliance features detailed in the Pulumi Cloud Security Whitepaper. Sign up at pulumi.com to get started.

Self-hosted (For regulated or air-gapped environments)

This Pulumi Cloud feature is available in the Enterprise edition.

Choose self-hosted Pulumi Cloud if you need complete control over your hosting environment. This is ideal for air-gapped environments or customers who require an isolated version of the Pulumi platform. You can deploy anywhere: on-premises, in your cloud account, or any infrastructure you control.

To get started with self-hosted Pulumi Cloud, follow the self-hosting infrastructure guide. Because Pulumi Cloud isn’t yet available to store state during the initial bootstrap process, you’ll need a DIY backend to manage state for the deployment that stands up the platform.

    Choose your billing approach

Pulumi offers flexible billing options to match your organization’s procurement preferences.

    Monthly billing

Pay monthly with a credit card. This option provides flexibility and is ideal for teams that want to start quickly or have variable usage patterns.

    Annual commitment pricing

Annual commitment pricing is available on Pro and Enterprise only. Pay upfront with invoicing for a committed amount of usage. Contact us to discuss commitment pricing.

Both billing options include detailed usage insights through the Billing & usage page in your organization settings. Track IaC resources, deployment minutes, ESC secrets, and download usage history. You can also set Neo usage limits to cap spend on Pulumi Neo. Only organization administrators and designated billing administrators can access these pages. You’ll also receive monthly usage reports via email.

Getting started with your chosen model
